Complete Recertification

Recertification is an annual process required by law for all proprietary schools certified to operate in Missouri. The recertification application cycle opens January 1 and closes March 15. Schools that fail to apply for recertification by the deadline will be charged a late fee of $10 per weekday (excluding holidays) until the application is received. Schools that fail to recertify will have their certification revoked and will no longer be able to teach or recruit students in Missouri.

Recertification Fees

To complete recertification, you will be required to pay a fee to the Office of Postsecondary Policy. The cost of the recertification fee varies and is based on net tuition income. Do not try to submit this payment until requested by the department. MDHEWD will provide the total cost of the recertification fee during the application review process. Additionally, if you do not complete your recertification before the deadline, you will be responsible for paying a late fee.

For more information on how recertification fees are calculated, please review the related regulations.
