The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) has obtained student records from the Healing Arts Center, which closed in September 2025. Students who were enrolled or paid a deposit and were unable to complete their program may be eligible to file a claim for financial loss.
The MDHEWD mailed notification letters to potentially eligible students on February 1, 2026. Receipt of a letter does not guarantee reimbursement; it is the first step in the claims process.
To be eligible to file a claim:
- The student did not complete their program at the Healing Arts Center or another institution.
- Funds paid using federal grants are not eligible for reimbursement.
- Costs paid with federal student loans may be eligible if the loans have not been forgiven due to the school’s closure.
- Claims must include supporting documentation.
If you believe you meet these criteria but did not receive a letter, please contact the MDHEWD at propcompliance@dhewd.mo.gov for additional information.
If you were a student at the Healing Arts Center and would like to request your transcript, please fill out the ATEAM's Transcript Request.
