COVID-19 disrupted postsecondary learning and added new obstacles that affected students who experience equity gaps. Access to technology, job loss, and added caregiving responsibilities are just a few obstacles that the pandemic revealed. These obstacles can impact a student's ability to work towards a credential or degree. In order to help students overcome these hurdles, MDHEWD is developing policies that embody its vision: “Every Missourian empowered with the skills and education needed for success.”
