The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) has scheduled several FAFSA Frenzy: FSA ID events in November and December at Missouri Job Centers, colleges, and libraries across the state to help Missouri students and parents prepare to file their 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The events will focus on helping attendees create an FSA ID, which is required to fill out a FAFSA.
“The FAFSA is the predominant way to determine students’ eligibility for most federal and state financial aid,” said Dr. Ben Boggs, commissioner of the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. “Although the FAFSA has not officially been released yet, now is the perfect time to make sure students and their parents set up their FSA ID and learn more about the information they need to file in December. These FAFSA Frenzy: FSA ID events are a great opportunity for students and parents to take the first step toward applying for grants, scholarships, work-study, and other financial assistance.”
The FAFSA Frenzy: FSA ID events are open to any student attending or interested in attending a college or university, no matter where they live, go to school, or plan to attend college. The following FAFSA Frenzy: FSA ID events are scheduled for Tuesday, November 14.

Students and parents can find an upcoming event near them by checking the FAFSA Frenzy calendar on journeytocollege.mo.gov.
Students should submit a FAFSA every year they plan to attend college in order to secure all of the financial aid available to them. To file a FAFSA, the student and any parent filing out a portion of the FAFSA will be required to have an FSA ID. An FSA ID includes a username and password that allows students and parents to access and sign the FAFSA online. To create an FSA ID, students must determine if they are dependent or independent. Help making that determination is available at studentaid.gov. Anyone creating an FSA ID will need their Social Security number (or alternative identity verification), full name as it appears on their birth certificate, date of birth, physical address, phone number, and email address.
