MDHEWD partners with Missouri Treasurer for America Saves Week

The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) is partnering with the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office to promote America Saves Week.

Since 2007, America Saves Week has encouraged Americans to save money, reduce debt, build wealth and build responsible financial habits. America Saves Week begins today and runs through Saturday, Feb. 29.

Throughout the week, MDHEWD will promote smart savings for Missouri families, as well as provide tips for high school and college students to help set them on a firm financial footing.

"We’re excited to partner with the Treasurer’s Office to help Missourians discover news ways to save and invest in their future,” said Zora Mulligan, commissioner of higher education. “We want to empower Missourians to chase their college and career dreams no matter what stage of life they’re in. Just like it’s never too late to change the trajectory of your life with education and training, it’s never too late to start saving.”

Each day, MDHEWD and the Treasurer’s Office will use social media to promote the importance of personal savings and highlight tools to help Missourians achieve their financial goals.

“I am proud to partner with MDHEWD for America Saves Week as we both strive to help Missourians achieve their future financial goals,” Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick said. “The Missouri State Treasurer's Office offers tools to help Missourians plan for a stronger financial future, including MOST, Missouri’s 529 Education Plan and MO ABLE, a savings program for individuals with disabilities. The Financial Literacy Portal is also available to answer your money questions. We want you to succeed.”
