Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development is committed to improving education and supporting development of industry in the critical mathematics, engineering, technology, and science (STEM) fields. An increased focus on preparing, attracting, training, and retaining skilled and educated citizens in these fields is critical to Missouri's future in the competitive global marketplace. To support this goal, The department has been and is an active partner in the Missouri Math and Science Coalition.
The Missouri Math and Science Coalition is group of business, education, government and community stakeholders who have come together to foster collaboration to ensure Missouri citizens are equipped with knowledge and skills in mathematics, engineering, technology and science to prosper in a global economy.
