New podcast focused on hearing real voices talk about economic and workforce development
Today the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) launched a podcast series called MoTalent: A Talent for Tomorrow Podcast as part of the Talent for Tomorrow and Best in Midwest initiatives. The series consists of six episodes scheduled to be released over the next six weeks. Each episode features Commissioner Zora Mulligan and thought leaders from around Missouri and the nation. Co-hosts include Economic Development Director Rob Dixon, Division of Workforce Development Director Mardy Leathers, and State Representative Travis Fitzwater from District 49.
The first episode features an interview with Governor Mike Parson.
“The MoTalent podcast series begins to explore some of our thoughts and ideas as we develop strategies to make Missouri the Best in the Midwest,” said Governor Mike Parson. “It’s clear from these conversations and many others that we have a tremendous opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Missourians both today and in the future.”
Other episodes include conversations with educators, business leaders, economic developers, elected officials, national experts, college students and recent graduates.
“We’ve been taking a big picture look at how we should approach economic development and workforce preparation in Missouri through the Talent for Tomorrow and Best in Midwest initiatives,” said Zora Mulligan, commissioner of higher education. “It’s easy to get lost in the data and forget these numbers represent real people. This podcast gives you an opportunity to hear real voices and different perspectives about developing Missouri’s talent for tomorrow’s workforce.”
