Kennedy and Thomson to continue as chair and vice chair for 2019
Doug Kennedy, Mike Thomson, and Joe Cornelison were selected to serve as officers for the Coordinating Board for Higher Education (CBHE) at its December meeting. Kennedy will serve as chair, Thomson as vice-chair, and Cornelison as secretary.
New CBHE officers are selected by the board annually to serve a one-year term.
“It is a privilege to continue serving on the Coordinating Board as chair,” Kennedy said. “The work we do to strengthen Missouri’s higher education system and increase educational opportunities for all Missourians is meaningful and has a lasting impact.”
Kennedy, representing District 8, an attorney from Poplar Bluff, was first appointed to the board in December 2013. Thomson, representing District 6, a former state representative and a retired marketing and development director from Maryville, was first appointed to the board in April 2016 and reappointed in July 2018. Cornelison, At-Large member, a retired colonel in the U.S. Army and senior counsel for Husch Blackwell from Maryville, was first appointed to the board in December 2017.
