Two St. Louis deans tapped for Missouri education advisory board

Members of the Coordinating Board for Higher Education voted to appoint Dr. Quincy Rose of Harris-Stowe State University and Dr. Melanie Bishop of Missouri Baptist University to serve on the Missouri Advisory Board for Educator Preparation.

The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education established the Missouri Advisory Board for Educator Preparation to foster meaningful and substantial collaboration among stakeholders to improve the quality of educator preparation in Missouri. The advisory board consists of 14 members.

Rose is the dean of the College of Education at Harris-Stowe State University. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Delaware State University and her doctorate of education from Wilmington University. Bishop is the associate vice president for graduate affairs and dean of the School of Education at Missouri Baptist University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University and her master’s degree and doctorate of education from Lindenwood University.
