The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) has announced that Rob Binney was added to the Missouri Workforce Development Board (WDB).
Governor Mike Parson appointed Binney to the WDB in February, and it became official Tuesday during a Senate confirmation hearing.
The WDB aims to promote economic growth and improve employment, training, and education programs.
“I look forward to helping bring the workforce, education, training, and the employers together,” Binney said. “Workforce development is a win for all of us and speaks volumes about Missouri’s bright future.”
Binney has served as Senior Vice President of Citizens Bank and Trust (soon to be Southern Bank) since 2017, a member of the Lee’s Summit City Council from 2012-2020, and as Mayor Pro Tempore from 2016-2018. Binney is a member of the executive committee of the Lee’s Summit Workforce Alliance, as well as the advisory board of the Truman Heartland Community Foundation and the Lee’s Summit Education Foundation.
Binney holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri.
