Help students create an FSA ID


Applying for an FSA ID can be done in four quick steps.


1 - Begin by going to Click on the "Create an FSA ID" tab. Students, parents or borrowers will start by adding their email address, along with their chosen username and password. For helpful tips while answering questions, click on the question mark (?) after each answer.


2 - Add personal and demographic information.


3 - Select two challenge questions and create two challenge questions. Students may also choose a significant date as a fifth challenge question. These questions and answers can be used to retrieve their username and password and/or unlock an account. They may also use a phone number to receive a code via text message to unlock their account.


4 - Review and accept the FSA ID terms and conditions. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address provided and once verified, the FSA ID will be available to use.
