FAFSA Frenzy helps thousands of Missouri students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid every year. The FAFSA is the primary form used by federal, state, and institutional financial assistance programs in determining an individual's eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.
Hosting FAFSA Frenzy
Registration closed on August 23, 2019. If you would still like to host FAFSA Frenzy during the 2019-20 program year in order to help students and their families complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. FAFSA Frenzy activities should generally be conducted between October 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020.
Missouri's high schools are encouraged to participate in both FAFSA Frenzy and Missouri's FAFSA Completion Project, which allows schools to receive reports showing the students that have completed their FAFSA. FAFSA Frenzy and FAFSA Completion Reports work hand-in-hand as we strive to have high school seniors finalize their postsecondary educational plans by Decision Day in the spring.
Site coordinator resources
The 2019-20 site coordinator Journey to College Resource Manual for all three Journey to College programs contains electronic printable flyers, tips for organizing and promoting your activities, fillable templates and forms, checklists, and other materials to help make your FAFSA Frenzy activities successful. You may download the entire manual or find FAFSA Frenzy-specific resources and templates at http://dhewd.mo.gov/ppc/fafsafrenzyresources.php.
Volunteer for FAFSA Frenzy 2019-20
The foundation of the FAFSA Frenzy program is the amazing volunteers helping students complete the FAFSA. Financial aid officers, high school and college counselors, and college access professionals with knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid are encouraged to volunteer at FAFSA Frenzy.
If you are able to donate a few hours of your time to FAFSA Frenzy, please complete the volunteer registration form today by visiting https://surveys.mo.gov/index.php/638976. The form only takes a couple of minutes to complete. For 2019-20 there are a few changes to how the volunteer processes work:
- The registration form is available earlier this year. FAFSA Frenzy sites requesting volunteers will be dropped into the site selection questions as site register.
- Volunteers may register for more than one site using a single form submission. If you choose to volunteer at multiple sites, be sure to select event dates/times that do not conflict.
- We are offering volunteer t-shirts. You may select your t-shirt size and provide your shipping address when you complete the volunteer registration form, and we will ship your t-shirt to you.
If you have any questions or concerns about FAFSA Frenzy or about the volunteer registration form, please contact email@example.com.
FAFSA Frenzy Origins
FAFSA Frenzy is part of national efforts to promote FAFSA completion and has been offered in Missouri since 2004 through partnerships between the Missouri Department of Higher Education, the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel, the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority, and the National College Access Network.
