A facility review of Missouri's public colleges and universities was conducted during summer 2018. The overall goal of this review was to assess the “state of the state” of higher education facilities and to review and understand the trends and issues institutions face. The final report detailing the conditions was completed in November 2018.

Background:

Department staff toured colleges and universities March through June to gather information about:

  • Each campus’s master plan, including enrollment trends and projections

  • Facilities in need of corrective construction, renovation/rehabilitation, modernization, and accessibility improvements

  • Significant capital improvements in the past 10 years, including maintenance and repair projects and new construction

A draft report was presented to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education in September 2018.

 

The last statewide review of Missouri’s public colleges and universities was completed in 2009.
